Short answer, as of 29 October 2026: Contabo ran a Black Friday sale in each of the last two years, but its deals have never been about a dramatic headline price. In 2025 the archived page listed 25% off long-term VPS plans, its WireGuard VPS included, plus waived location fees in the US and UK. The 2026 offer was not published here when we wrote this; we add it, dated, the day it appears.
If you need a WireGuard server this week, the current Contabo Cloud VPS 4 (affiliate link) is 5.50 € a month on a 24-month term, read on 22 October 2026. A repeat of the 2025 discount would take about 33 € off that over two years.
What Contabo offered on Black Friday 2025
We read the copy of contabo.com/en-us/black-friday/ captured by the Internet Archive on 27 November 2025, the day before Black Friday. The offer blocks, word for word in substance:

The page headline that year was "Everyone says their Black Friday deals are the best. We're just being honest." The archived page does not state the end date of each block, so treat the window as the Black Friday week itself.
And in 2024
The 2024 landing page, archived on 15 November 2024 in its pre-campaign version, announced only two things: reduced location fees and no setup fee. Its "live" version carried the line "We actually have the best prices; all the others have are flashy discounts." Read together, the two years show a pattern: Contabo discounts the extras and the long commitments, and keeps its list prices where they are.
What a repeat would save on a WireGuard VPS
Applied to today's prices (read on 22 October 2026, 24-month term), the 2025 mechanic would give:

These are our calculations on the 2025 rule, not prices Contabo has announced for 2026. For a single household VPN, the Cloud VPS 4 is already more machine than WireGuard needs: the useful question is not the discount but the port speed (200 Mbit/s caps your tunnel) and the location (a US or UK exit was the part that got cheaper in 2025).
Five checks before you buy any VPS Black Friday deal
- Renewal price. A discount on the first term is worth little if the renewal doubles. Note the price after the term ends.
- Term length. "Long-term" means a multi-month commitment, paid for up front or locked in. Do the sum over the whole term, not the monthly figure.
- Location and setup fees. On Contabo these are where the 2024 and 2025 savings actually were. A free US location can be worth more than the headline percentage.
- Port speed and traffic. For a VPN, the port is your ceiling. A cheaper plan with a slower port is a slower tunnel.
- VAT basis. Contabo's page switches between prices with and without VAT. Compare like with like.
Should you wait until Black Friday?
- You need the tunnel now (travel, public Wi-Fi, a blocked service): do not wait. The 24-month price is already the low price; the Black Friday saving on an entry plan is tens of euros over two years.
- You can wait a month and want a US or UK exit: waiting is reasonable, since waived location fees were the most valuable part of the 2025 offer.
